Dear friends,
I hope that you have had a good day. There is no better film (in my opinion) than 'The Empire Strikes Back'. To celebrate May the Fourth (be with you), I've treated myself to yet another viewing. It brings back many happy memories. I started work at 15 and with my first pay packets saved enough money to have 3 days on my own in London sightseeing and theatre going. Evita (with Elaine Paige, David Essex and Jos Ackland one evening, and 'The Empire Strikes Back' at Odeon Cinema Leicester Square just days after its British premier. Those were the days when you had to wait for new films to hit provincial cinemas.
Clare Pickering is also taking us back down memory lane. With bucket and spade, fish and chip, and sea and sand. Her thought for this day is enclosed. We thank her for her work on this and for her message on Sunday.
How blessed we are to have God who knows our past and present, and who will lead us through the moods of life. He is our rock and stronghold. Alleluia.
Andrew
